Dining Service Meal Plans

Dining @ EKU

There are lots of choices of where and when and what to eat on campus. Plus, we’re excited about our brand new dining facility, Case Dining Hall. Walk around, ask around, and you’ll soon find your favorites. Here are your on campus options:
  • Case Kitchen (Upstairs Case): Fresh cooked, all-you-care-to-eat, buffet-style meals.
  • Stratton Café (Stratton Building): May be EKU’s best kept secret. With a full salad bar, grilled items, a deli, and a home cooking station.
  • Chick-Fil-A; Moe's Southwest Grill; Panda Express; Subway (Case Food Court; Downstairs Case)
  • Starbucks & Steak 'n Shake (Downstairs Powell)
  • Java City (Crabbe Library): Coffees plain and fancy, baked goods, salads and sandwiches
  • Cuisine (Science Building):offering a wide variety of soups, salads, flatbread pizzas, signature selection sandwiches and wraps made to order.
  • POD Markets(located around campus - Downstairs Case; BTC; Stratton; Wallace). Combines the corner store with the style of a modern market, featuring grab ‘n go dining options for breakfast, lunch or any time of day, including: freshly-prepared breakfast sandwiches, burritos, wraps, sushi and salads, as well as fresh produce, bakery and coffee selections and traditional essentials found in a convenience store.
Many meals and snacks can be made to your specifications, including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. Consult Aramark’s Executive Chef for special dietary needs.

Meal Plans

EKU students manage expenses and enjoy healthy, nourishing meals that fit their lifestyles using a two-part meal plan, which combines meals at our “all-you-care-to-eat” locations and “Dining Dollars (Flex)” to be spent at any Aramark on-campus dining location. Both of these meal currencies start on the first day of classes each semester and are accessed through your Colonel Card.

Who needs a $300 Dining Dollar meal plan?

The Dining Dollars program is designed to supplement a student’s campus dining needs. The $300 Dining Dollars equals about $20 per week or $2.86 per day. Dining Dollars can be used at all Aramark Dining locations and POD's.

During the 2019 - 2020 academic year, all EKU freshmen commuter students, sophomore residential/commuter students, junior residential/commuter students, and senior residential/commuter students will particpatee in t he Dining Dollars program. The Dining Dollars fee of $300 is charged to the student account automatically when enrolled in 5 credit hours or more on campus. Just like the meal plan, Dining Dollars is an account on the Colonel Card.

No refunds will be issued if a meal plan is upgraded from the $300 mandatory meal plan.

Unused Dining Dollars roll from Fall semester to Spring semester. At the end of the Spring semester, students who have been mandatorily assigned the $300 Dining Dollar (Flex) meal plan may request a refund of any remaining unused $300 Dining Dollar Funds.

This may be completed by logging into EKU Direct within a set time period during a 30 day period (May 15th - June 15th) after the spring semester has ended. All eligible students will be contacted via email with details. Refunds will be deposited according to the preferences (funds deposited to the Colonel1Card or existing checking account) selected when activating your Student ID. Those who have not activated their Student ID will receive a check at the mailing address listed with the registrar’s office.

Note: Additional funds cannot be added to $300 Dining Dollars (Flex) account.  If you would like to add funds to your Colonel Card, you may do so with Optional Flex and/or Colonel Cash by logging into GET

Questions regarding a refund for this plan must be directed to EKU Card Services by calling 859.622.2179 or emails to: cardservices@eku.edu
